Quebec City, my home town, cherishes the memory of children drawn to its bosom, the sons and daughters of first nations and immigrants who—if they had the good fortune to survive to adulthood—helped build this city to which the eyes of the world are turning today as it celebrates 400 years of history.
A powerful creative spirit inhabits the artists of Quebec City. This is a moving place, a city of natural charms and passionate character. Quebec City inspires me. Smitten by its nobility, I wanted to offer it a sign of my affection with “Quebec 400,” a musical tribute evoking its illustrious past, both its moments of grace and its times of war. This music is above all a birthday present to the inhabitants of the region and to visitors from around the world.
As you listen to this music, remember that today’s children are tomorrow’s artists. UNICEF, through its humanitarian action and with your help, meets the basic needs of children around the world. Please make a donation so that these children may also have the opportunity to build their own house, their own home, their own city.
Enjoy!
